A CSA-listed electric space heater on a clear floor, plugged directly into a wall outlet, is a short-term bridge. Do not use a barbecue, camp stove, or generator indoors. Those cause carbon monoxide deaths in winter outages. Keep the heater away from curtains and do not leave it unattended.
